A PROFESSIONAL, MUSICAL ADAPTATION OF SHAKESPEARE’S “BERMUDA PLAY”

After a sold-out run in 2024, Devil’s Isle Shakespeare Company will perform their signature, Bermuda-themed adaptation of The Tempest (Music & Lyrics by Emily Erickson & Séamus Miller) at venues across the island in September, 2025.

This 90-minute production includes a dozen musical numbers (in addition to Shakespeare’s text) and a revised ending that challenges the colonial attitude of the original play. Written in 1611, The Tempest was inspired by the wreck of the Sea Venture in 1609.
